About the Podcast

Spanning topics from pigs, to Persian poetry, to the Plantagenets, the podcast been used as a teaching tool for students from Oxford, to Harvard, to local secondary schools - as well as being cheerful company for people scrubbing their bathtubs.

The goals of The Medieval Podcast continue to be to expand our common knowledge about the period, to share a love of the Middle Ages with the broader public, and to highlight our common humanity across time, in all its messy, complex beauty.

Special Thanks

The Medieval Podcast has been distributed for six years with the help of Medievalists.net, specifically its c0-founder/editor Peter Koniezcny, who has appeared on the vast majority of the episodes in gratitude for his help. The podcast has also slowly expanded to include the help of an incredible editor (who prefers to remain anonymous), as well as the invaluable administrative assistance of Virginia Bowman. The music for episodes 1-299 was Beyond the Warriors, composed and performed by Guifrog. The current music was composed by Christian Overton, and performed by Christian Overton and Maya Kiltron.
